Ranking Methodology
Our scoring is transparent, data-driven, and independent. No black boxes — every factor below influences every rank you see on Searcia.
How Directory Listings Are Ordered
Within any Searcia directory you can sort by several factors. The default order uses three tiers, applied from top to bottom.
Sponsored Providers
Agencies that pay a placement fee to appear at the top of directories they would otherwise organically appear on. Sponsorship does not change the underlying Searcia Score — it only affects position. All sponsored agencies must still meet our baseline quality criteria.
Advertise on SearciaVerified Providers
Agencies that have passed our multi-step verification programme. Verified providers have confirmed their legal entity, passed a credit risk check, and met minimum review criteria. Premier Verified providers pass a higher bar and appear above standard Verified.

All remaining agencies are ranked by their Searcia Score — a composite of reviews, market presence, service expertise, client portfolio, and platform activity. Higher scores float to the top. This is the pure, un-paid ranking signal.

Searcia Verified
Verified agencies have undergone a rigorous, multi-step vetting process to give buyers confidence in their hiring decision. Two tiers exist.
Premier Verified
Our highest trust tier. Agencies must meet all of the following:
- Average star rating of 4.0 or higher
- 5+ verified client reviews on Searcia
- Very low to low credit risk from independent credit bureau
- Confirmed legal entity and business registration
- No open disputes or unresolved complaints
Verified
Meet either criteria set below:
- Average star rating of 3.0 or higher
- Very low to moderate credit risk rating
- Average star rating of 3.0 or higher
- 3+ verified Searcia reviews
- High to very high credit risk (with additional business history check)
Paid programme. Agencies pay a fee to apply for Verified status. The fee covers the cost of running credit checks and business entity verification — it does not purchase a favourable score. Agencies that do not meet the criteria are rejected and refunded.
Where Our Data Comes From
Every data point feeding into a Searcia Score comes from one of these six sources.
Agency-Submitted Data
Agencies provide their own profile information — services, team size, portfolio, clients, and locations. We validate and spot-check all submitted data for accuracy and flag inconsistencies.
Independent Research
Our research team evaluates each agency using public signals: website quality, social presence, press coverage, awards, technology partner pages, and third-party review platforms.
Verified Client Reviews
We collect reviews directly from past clients, verifying their identity before publishing. Each review includes the project scope, budget range, and star ratings across multiple dimensions.
Market Intelligence
We monitor industry signals including team growth, funding events, leadership changes, awards and recognition, and client wins to reflect the current state of each agency.
Ongoing Monitoring
Agency scores are not static. We re-evaluate profiles monthly based on new reviews, updated information, changes in market signals, and platform activity since the last scoring cycle.
Verification Checks
For Searcia Verified agencies, we conduct additional business legitimacy checks including legal entity verification, credit risk assessment, and ownership structure review.
Scores Are Never for Sale
Searcia generates revenue through sponsored placements, verification programme fees, and subscription packages. None of these payments influence an agency's underlying Searcia Score. Our research team operates independently from our sales team, and no commercial relationship can raise or lower a score.
If an agency believes their score is inaccurate, they can submit a data dispute through their agency dashboard. All disputes are reviewed by a human analyst — not an automated system — within 10 business days.
When Scores Are Updated
Rankings are not a snapshot in time — they evolve as new information arrives.
Full Score Recalculation
All active agency profiles are re-scored on the first week of each month. Market presence signals, review data, and platform activity are re-evaluated in full.
New Reviews Published
When a new client review is verified and published, the agency's review sub-score is updated immediately, and the overall score adjusts within 24 hours.
Profile Updates
When an agency updates their services, team size, location, or portfolio, the affected sub-scores are flagged for review and updated in the next scoring cycle.
Dispute Resolutions
Accepted score disputes trigger an out-of-cycle update. If data was found to be incorrect, the corrected score goes live within 3 business days of resolution.
Common Questions
Can agencies pay to improve their ranking?
No. Sponsored placements affect sort order position, not the underlying Searcia Score. The score is calculated independently by our research team and cannot be purchased. Sponsored providers must still meet our baseline quality criteria.
Learn about sponsored placement →How often are scores updated?
Scores are recalculated monthly. Significant events — such as a new set of client reviews or a verified award — may trigger an out-of-cycle update within the same month.
What is the difference between Searcia Verified and Premier Verified?
Verified agencies have passed our baseline legitimacy check: legal entity confirmation, a credit risk assessment, and a minimum review threshold. Premier Verified is a higher tier requiring a stronger credit rating, more verified reviews, and a higher average star rating.
Apply for Searcia Verified →How does Searcia collect client reviews?
Agencies can invite past clients to leave a review via a unique link. Our team also proactively contacts references listed on agency profiles. Before any review is published, we verify the reviewer's identity and relationship with the agency.
Leave a client review →Can agencies dispute their score?
Yes. Agencies can submit a score dispute through their agency dashboard. We review disputes within 10 business days. If new evidence is provided — corrected data, documentation of an error, or a resolved issue — we will re-evaluate and update accordingly.
Go to your dashboard →Are newly listed agencies penalised for having fewer reviews?
We use a confidence-adjusted scoring model. Agencies with fewer data points receive a wider score range rather than a low fixed score. As more data is collected, confidence narrows and the displayed score becomes more precise.
Get your agency listed free →How does Searcia handle fake or incentivised reviews?
We use a combination of identity verification, IP analysis, and editorial review to detect suspicious patterns. Any review flagged as potentially fraudulent is removed and the agency score is adjusted. Agencies found soliciting fake reviews are delisted.
Report an issue →Can companies rank in multiple service categories?
Yes. An agency can appear in multiple categories if they list those services on their profile and meet the minimum quality criteria for each. Their score may differ per category based on the volume and quality of reviews in that niche.
